Combining Your Niche With A Blog Can Mean Big Profits

As you have been well informed by now a blog (short for weblog) is a concept that started in the 90’s. It was a way for the author to put down in words his or her personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun.

Blogs also provided a way for the author’s readers to also voice their own opinions, on what was written, via the comment section.

Though blogs for advertising were once considered highly controversial, ln the 21st century blogging has now evolved into one of the most powerful ways to present your niche to the world. Ultimately leading to more profits for you.

Blogs being niche based by nature makes them the perfect advertising medium for setting up and furthering the success of your own individual niches.

Choosing a niche that you are passionate about makes for the very best combination to keep your interest in the  your blog and what it will take to keep it going for the long haul.

Every great blogging web site starts with a great idea, so this is the first thing you must decide before you can even begin to create a successful blog site that will last.

To optimize the profits you must keep the reader in mind. Don’t just come up with ideas you think would be neat.

What are they looking for within your niche? What would benefit them more than anything else others in this niche are offering? Can you apply a personal touch that will make your niche blog stand out?

Once you have decided on your blog’s niche and have the ideas in place you will want to plan the blog to be uniform with what you have in mind.

One of the best ways to monetize your blog is through the placement of contextual ads such as Google Adsense. Also adding affiliate links related to your niche will help your bottom line.

Keep this in mind, and even have chosen affiliate pictures and contextual ad layouts, that you will use, while planning the theme and design of your blog. Again filtering in as much of your personality as possible is a good idea. Surfers that are considered avid bloggers are a demographic that responds especially strongly to personality, so consider how you can give your site a unique and attractive feeling by lending your own voice and sensibility to your site’s design and content.

Color coordinating and adding customized images will also help your blog stand out from the crowd.

Making your blog interactive such as adding videos or sound can also keep your readers coming back for more and will ensure they will be more likely to join your blog as a member.

Just make sure that you do not over do it to the point your pages take 5 minutes to load for your visitors.

The more members you can get to join the better success you will have. But keeping them coming back and constantly building on the membership is the key. You will have to offer something to your reader’s that no other blog in you niche is doing. Incentives can help you encourage them to join. Such as maybe a free sample of your niche product. Or a coupon for a discount towards the purchase and so on.

Now we have already went over the best ways to get a blog going in previous articles, such as the second method outlined in my article “Building An Email List with Your Own Newsletter or Ezine“, so I won’t go into detail on that again here.

But I will say that through my own experience with blogs, hosting my own blogs on my own web site has been the easiest by far in being able to personalize it as I want it and add exactly what type of advertising and where on my blog.

I highly recommend wordpress for its ease in installing and for its many helpful plug ins.

Now once you have decided your niche, planned your theme and design around the ads and products you want to feature and have wordpress installed and ready to go, there is one other thing to consider. You will want to choose your plug-ins wisely.

While you can download and activate every plug-in there is. There are a few that will benefit you the most and when used strategically together will increase your blog’s success and profits in any related programs you want to add to your blog plan.

These are the wordpress plug-ins I recommend that will work well with any niche and help you automate the process of reaching profits:

1. Akismet - checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. Stops virtually all comment spam.

2. aLinks - a handy plug in that automatically links keywords in your blog posts to any URL you want or even specific products from popular affiliate programs such as Amazon.com and Clickbank.

3. Smart RSS - Manages and automatically imports / posts rss feeds from different sources sorting them by category. This keeps your blog active and vital in the search engines. You can have one category set up on your blog related to your niche and fill it with articles making your site content rich. Or you can set up several categories. You have complete control over how many automatic posts and how often.

4. Submit It Plugin - This plug in lists popular blog aggregator (social bookmarking sites) and feeds and the links to submit to them under each post on your site.

Depending on your niche you may find other wordpress plugins useful. Research them and decide how they will benefit you and your readers. You will find a link to more plug-ins in your wordpress admin area.

So there you have it. Combine your niches with blogs and help boost your success with this popular modern advertising medium.
